All things travel, styling & beauty.
Hi Emma! You’ve been a close friend of C&K for some time now, but for those who don’t know you – could you introduce yourself and tell us what you do and what is the best part of your job?
Hi :) I'm Emma, I create things and share them online. Mainly photographs, but more videos recently too. I share my home, skincare, style and travels on my page @emmahoareau. The best part is that I have a wonderful online community I get to share with each day. When I get messages that my tips have helped someone feel more comfortable in their skin, my heart might just explode.
What is your relationship like with beauty, what does it mean to you?
To me beauty is so many things - and it's so personal! For me beauty is a feeling rather than just a visual. When I feel beautiful, then I am. I love that what you find beautiful can change and grow over time.
You’ve done some incredible travel across the last few years – what is your favourite destination to travel to? Do you have a favourite travel memory you could share with us?
I've been very lucky in the places I've been able to visit, but my favourite will always be my home country of France. I grew up in Paris so it's always a treat to go back, but there is nothing like the South of France - the warm pine scent from the trees, the salty breeze.. it's pure magic and I love to go. A favourite travel memory of mine that happened in the past year was getting a hot air balloon at sunrise over Marrakech - it was incredible! I thought it would be quite scary but it was actually a very peaceful and magical experience
Tell us your must-haves when it comes to packing for a vacation. What can’t you leave home without?
SPF, a bikini, a lightweight shirt and some sandals. I'm a massive overpacker even though each and every time I end up wearing the same few outfits over and over. I don't think I'll ever get it right, but that's ok!
We love your style and how you put outfits together. What is the best styling advice you’ve ever received?
That good style is just a well-proportioned outfit – so to balance something tight with something loose, or long with short. It’s such a simple thing to keep in mind when getting dressed. Also that it doesn’t matter what you wear but how you feel in it.
What are you listening to/reading to/watching right now?
I'm listening to Cleo Sol, reading The First Woman and watching Shrinking.
Where is next on your travel list?
I’m heading to Marseille this weekend with a friend for a few nights – it’s such a fun city to visit and I’m excited to explore more of the restaurants and beaches.
